John Gray & Co Funeral Directors supports Kilcooley Women’s Centre

Kilcooley Womens Centre was delighted to accept a donation from John Gray & Co Funeral Directors in Bangor. Carol Savage Education Manager said 'This donation is greatly welcomed and has enabled us to purchase a much needed roller banner to help us promote the Womens Centre.' Mike Smith from John Grays commented

that "This is a great opportunity for John Gray & Co to give something back to the community. We are delighted to be in a position to support Kilcooley Women's Centre in promoting training and education programmes for women in the area."johnGray

About Kilcooley Women's Centre

Kilcooley Womens Centre was formed in 1995 when 5 women and a tutor decided to set up a group whose aim was to promote and establish an education programme for women. Today the group has an average of 250 women in educational classes and around 100 have participated in our healthy living project.

Kilcooley Women's Education Group was formed in 1995 when 5 women and a tutor (who met whilst working in the local ACE Scheme) decided to set up a group whose aim was to promote and establish an education programme for women, young adults and pre-school children. With the support of Jack Young (Headmaster), the group was allowed the use of an empty classroom in Kilcooley Primary School.

At Kilcooley Women’sCentre, we have the benefit of an on-site crèche, Kiddie Academy which is supervised by fully qualified staff. Members can attend their class with the knowledge their child is being well cared for, whilst still being close by.

The crèche is a bright and spacious environment and has been very beneficial for children starting playgroup or nursery, as they have had experience of a structured childcare environment.
