Kilcooley Women's Centre is the leading education project within Kilcooley. However, we work in partnership with other community groups in the area who offer education programmes to all sections of the community.

Timetable information for our sister groups - "The Square Centre", (a drop in centre and community cafe) and the "Resource Centre", which offer classes in the evenings and available to all men and women can be obtained from:

Kilcooley Womens Centre is also working with other groups in the North Down area delivering training such as CLAIT, Intro to IT and Glass Painting. These groups are Rathgill Community Association, East End Womens Group, Recon and North Down Alternatives.

Rathgill Community Association is supported by S.P.O.D funding.

The centre is open five days a week and employs a Community Development Worker (Karen Worrall ) and Social Economy Manager (Gary Sullivan) for Rathgill Solutions Ltd.

communityNorth Down Community Assistance

The centre's aim is to assist all members of the community in matters like:

DHSS, Housing, DLA, Anti-social problems regardless of their cultural backgroud or ethnic origin.

The centre is open Monday - Friday 9am - 2pm to all the communities - NDCA will not turn anyone away who seeks training, help or advice.

All matters will be dealt with in confidence.

The Redburn Loughview community forum is an umbrella group for all the local people and groups in the estate

communityBangor Alternatives

A community-led, government accredited restorative justice project, Bangor Alternatives works to redirect young people away from crime and address anti-social behaviour. The Project also provides support to victims, allowing them to express hurt and concerns. It continues to develop new preventative measures to involve young people in active citizenship roles.

Bangor Alternatives also works in a cross community capacity with groups from across West Belfast and is part of the Northern Ireland Alternatives group.
