Eastend Residents Association

The East End Residents Association exists to improve the quality of life for local residents in a geographical area within and bordering the Town Centre of Newtownards which is located on the outskirts of Belfast City . The Association strives to address the rising problems which affect the lives of local people by organising and delivering a range of community activities for all ages, sourcing funding to improve community resources and work alongside and lobby statutory agencies to improve the local environment and resolve community relation issues.

To date the Association has organised and held a number of events and outings for local youths; held educational trips to raise cultural awareness and explore community relation issues (Due to its close proximity to Belfast, Newtownards has a legacy of 'the troubles' which still needs addressed); organised sports events to improve the health of local youths; organised inter-active environmental project to improve relations between local youths and the elderly; set up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and liaised with statutory agencies to make a number of physical changes within the community.
