Kilcooley Women's Centre  Timetable

New September Timetable 2016 (draft subject to change)

KWC has introduced some new training opportunities in our Autumn 2017 timetable.  With something for everyone, to suit a range of abilities, training will include a range of computer/IT courses such as ITQ (formerly known as Clait),  Beginners ICT and Social Media Training - Facebook, Twitter etc.  Wordprocessing as a qualification has now been removed by OCR RSA who accredited at level 1,2,3.  We are currently investigating if there are any plans by any awarding body to replace this qualification.  We are particulary delighted to offer Level 3 Classroom Assistant which has proven very popular with women returning to edcuation to seek employment.

As an accredited training centre, we hold authorisation to examine and accredit for the following awarding bodies:

  • CCEA - GCSEs and Essenital Skills Maths and English
  • AQA - GCSEs
  • British Computer Society - ECDL
  • OCR RSA - GCSEs, ITQ, CLAIT
  • VTCT - Beauty Courses such as Level 2 Gel Polish, Level 2 Nail Extension Techniques
  • Professional Beauty - Industry participation/attendance certificates for beauty, eg Industry Certificated Nail Extensions, Brows and Make Up

The centre can offer accreditation services for independent trainers (students attend KWC to sit exams).

The training team can assist and support learners to decide on training routes.  They also offer and employability support programme, assistance in writing a CV, completing job appliation forms and interview preparation.

For all education, training and employability enquiries, please contact Roberta Gray, Education Manager.

We make the decision on whether to run a course prior to the start date based on whether we have reached the minimum number of enrolments. So help us help you! Be an early bird and enrol well in advance!

These courses are funded by Department of Social Development with match funding from a variety of sources including the Department of Foreign Affairs, therefore criteria will apply. Further courses will be added as funding becomes available. Please contact the Training Team for more individual support and guidance
