Essential Skills Numeracy
What will I learn?
This qualification aims to improve your ability to understand, use, calculate and manipulate mathematical information and interpret results.
This course is generally classroom based and will be delivered over a full academic year (Sept – May/June). Passing the relevant assessments will result in either a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
This course generally has three components; Representing information, carrying out calculations and Interpreting and presenting findings. You must pass all the components to be awarded the qualification. Assessment is usually in the form of an externally set examination which covers all components. Attendance will be monitored and can be used as part of the assessment process.
This course is perfect for you if you want to develop further skills in numeracy, progress in education, training and/or employment and for if you wish to improve your personal development and life skills.
Your tutor is an experienced tutor who has experience delivering training for a number of education providers across Northern Ireland. Through their extensive experience of teaching Maths and Numeracy at various levels they have developed a supportive and inclusive learning environment welcoming to all abilities.

There are no subject entry requirements to this course. Your tutor will perform an initial assessment to ensure you are working towards the appropriate level. Open to all residents of Ards and North Down.
